Whenever we consider content for our featured artist section or any placement on our Network, we always prioritize work that the Hip Hop generation would approve of. This policy often leads us to explore various genres within the Entertainment realm.
We’ve found content from the world of Sports, Rock Music, Hip Hop, Gospel, Tech, Film/Television, publishing, Yacht, and soft rock, as well as politics….well you get the picture.
Our latest feature, “Relationships Goals,” features two iconic artists from Hip Hop and R&B: Kelly Rowland (Destiny’s Child) and Method Man (Wu Tang Clan). This feature covers three categories: Music, Film, and Television.
Now, let me talk about both artists. I’m not sure who or where they trained in acting, but their skill in many of their screen projects is truly mesmerizing.
I was already sold on Kelly. In fact, I’d love to see her portray a music icon that we all know and love in a biopic. I’ll keep the details for proprietary reasons, but I’ll check in with her when I see her in person.
As for Method Man, I knew he had acting potential from his early music videos and films like “How High,” “Soul Plane,” “Peppermint,” and “The Wire.” But it was his role as Davis Maclean in “Power Book II: Ghost” that truly solidified my belief that Meth is an official actor.
Kelly and Method Man have amassed a diverse portfolio of film, television, and music projects. However, I believe we can all agree that they possess that unique “it” factor—the special magic that the industry thrives on. This is precisely what you’ll experience when you watch them in “Relationship Goals.”
The film follows TV producer Leah Caldwell as she sets out to become the first woman to host New York’s top morning show. Her ex-boyfriend, Jarrett Roy, also throws his hat in the ring for the same role.
Jarrett claims to have been transformed by the book “Relationship Goals,” which becomes a central theme as Leah’s friends delve into its wisdom as well. Despite her unwavering focus on her career, Leah’s life takes an unexpected turn when she develops a romantic connection with her ex, challenging her priorities and forcing her to confront her own personal growth.
