When I first experienced the phenomenon we call LL Cool J, it was that voice! That penetrating pitch, confidence with sharp elite lyrics to match! LL’s vocals and Cut Creator’s precision on the 1 and 2’s was indeed a force to reckon with. No video just wax!

But when I finally saw the visuals in rap Magazines (shout to Right On! Famed Photographer Ernie Paniccioli, Kate Furgerson, Rap Pages) I saw the Group! E-Love, LL and Cut Creator.

Those images were almost as dope as the talent. Do yourself a favor and take the time and search those images of this trio. And I’m sure you will feel the significance of E-Love without reading his amazing Biography which includes his amazing co-producer credit on LL’s debut Alum – “Radio.” A multi-platinum project that sent them around the world and walked them right into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

Hip Hop Legend Chuck D felt it when he crafted the greatest Hip Hop logo in Marketing History! Using E-Loves’ silhouette as the black man in the cross hairs.

Thank you Hip Hop Legend, your influence will never be unfelt. Rest well.

Angela Bassett Presented the Inaugural James Earl Jones Prize to Laurence Fishburne at the Beverly Hilton on January 18, 2026

Los Angeles, CA (January 19, 2026) – The Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS™) announced the winners of the 2026 Voice Arts Awards at a star-studded ceremony that took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

Screen legend Laurence Fishburne received the inaugural James Earl Jones Prize, presented to him by co-star Angela Bassett and James’ son Flynn Earl Jones.

This new prize was created in honor of one of the world’s most influential artists, not just in the voice acting community, but in the entertainment industry at large, and will celebrate other performers who embody his artistic excellence, integrity, and cultural impact.

Debbe Hirata received the Legacy Award and Fabián Tororeceived the Apex Award at this year’s ceremony.
