NEW YORK, NY – October 4, 2022 – Hosted by GRAMMY®-nominated recording artist, actor, entrepreneur, and media personality Fat Joe, the “BET Hip Hop Awards” 2022 premieres tonight, October 4 at 9 PM ET/PT on BET. The annual celebration brings together the hottest names in music while paying homage to the year’s best in Hip Hop culture. “BET Hip Hop Awards” 2022 will also be simulcast on BET Her, MTV2 and VH1. “BET Hip Hop Awards” 2022 will premiere internationally via live stream on BET Africa on Thursday, October 5, and on BET France, My5, and Sky On-Demand in the UK, as well as on MTV Brazil and BET Pluto Brazil all on Friday, October 7.
”BET Hip Hop Awards” 2022 features red hot performances by Armani White Clipse, Fivio Foreign, King Combs, Jeezy, Kodak Black, Lil Tjay, French Montana, Joey Bada$$, Bleu, EST Gee, Glo Rilla, Moneybagg Yo, N.O.R.E, and Pusha T. An all-star tribute to the iconic LOUD Records and its pioneering founder Steve Rifkindclosed the show out with a legendary lineup of David Banner featuring Lil’ Flip, Dead Prez, Mobb Deep with Lil’ Kim, M.O.P., Remy Ma and Fat Joe, Three 6 Mafia, and Wu-Tang Clan.
Baby Tate, Big Boss Vette, Deetranada, Guapdad 4000, Jayson Cash, Ray Vaughn, Reuben Vincent, Sa-Roc, Sauce Walka, and Topaz Jones blazed the stage in the highly anticipated cyphers followed by a digital-exclusive cypher featuring rising stars Armani Caesar, Kentheman, Nana, Navelle Hice, OT The Real, and Yung Pooda.
The Hip Hop celebration begins with “Rap City ‘22” special at 8 PM ET/PT, hosted by Big Tigger. “Rap City ‘22” will celebrate the culture and feature exclusive interviews with Lil’ Kim, Remy Ma, Rapsody, G Herbo, Ice Spice, DJ Drama, and more! #RapCity
The series finale of “DJ Cassidy’s Pass The Mic” premieres at 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT with a special “BET Hip Hop Awards” Edition including appearances by Busta Rhymes, Ghostface Killah, Ice Cube, Jadakiss, Method Man, Redman, Raekwon, Remy Ma, RZA, Styles P, Swizz Beatz, Too $hort, Xzibit, Warren G and more.
Recently relaunched BET Jams joins the “BET Hip Hop Awards” celebration with re-airings of “BET Hip Hop Awards” 2021, “Rap City ‘21,” “DJ Cassidy’s Pass The Mic: HHA Edition” 2021, and a “BET Hip Hop Awards” 2022 dedicated video block highlighting nominees, presenters, performers, and cyphers. The BET Jams takeover will continue its celebration of Hip Hop with an airing of “No Limit Chronicles” and video blocks featuring No Limit artists followed by the launch of the new music video block series “Tap In” on Friday, October 7.
