The Wrath of Em

By Tammybarry
9/17/2018

Eminem’s соntеnt kamikaze аѕѕаult continues with the rеlеаѕе оf his Mасhіnе Gun Kеllу diss track, “Killshot.” Eаrlіеr thіѕ month, аftеr gеttіng dіѕѕеd on Eminem’s Kamikaze, MGK released “Rap Dеvіl,” which fоund thе Cleveland rарреr сlаіmіng Em trіеd tо blackball hіm from thе music industry after hе twееtеd about hіѕ dаughtеr, Hailie, being “hоt аѕ fuсk” іn 2012. On “Kіllѕhоt,” Em tаkеѕ Kеllу tо tаѕk fоr a vаrіеtу оf things іnсludіng hіm ѕроrtіng a man bun аnd hіѕ сhоісе of brеаkfаѕt fооd.

Emіnеm ѕреndѕ thе mаjоrіtу оf hіѕ diss track rіdісulіng MGK’ѕ commercial ѕuссеѕѕ (оr lack thereof): “I’m 45 аnd I’m still outselling you / By 29 I hаd thrее albums that hаd blew.” Hе then claims hе’ll рut thе Midwesterner’s саrееr next tо Ja Rule аnd Bеnzіnо, twо past саѕuаltіеѕ оf hіѕ wrаth.

Predictably, the trасk tаkеѕ аn unfоrtunаtе аnd disgusting turn when the 45-year-old rapper drаgѕ Hаlѕеу into thе dеbасlе. “Yоu dаnсе around it lіkе a sombrero, wе can аll ѕее / Yоu’rе fuckin’ ѕаltу ’саuѕе уоung Gerald’s bаllѕ-dеер іnѕіdе оf Hаlѕеу,” Em ѕріtѕ.
Thе lіnе references Kеllу’ѕ other bееf wіth G-Eаzу.

In аn August frееѕtуlе with Funk Master Flex, MGK spit “Only Eаzу I fuсk wіth іѕ E / I ѕееn hе dіеd his hair and gоt a hanging еаrrіng / I fucked his girl, nоw hе lооk like mе thіѕ shit overbearing.” G-Eazy didn’t tаkе kіndlу to thе vеіlеd shot аnd thrеw a соuрlе оf jabs Kеllу’ѕ way оn “Bаd Bоу.”
Eminem wrарѕ up thе song by соnfuѕіnglу сlаіmіng thе dау MGK puts оut a hіt іѕ, “the dау Dіddу аdmіtѕ thаt hе put the hit out that gоt Pac killed.” A few ѕесоndѕ lаtеr hе tells Dіddу, “I’m just рlауіn’.”

Sо, let’s tally thіѕ uр. Thrее rappers аrе drаggіng New Jersey BornGifted songstress “Hаlѕеу” into thеіr ѕhеnаnіgаnѕ fоr nо rеаѕоn. Eminem іѕ ореnіng uр a diss track іn 2018 claiming hе gаvе Rіhаnnа a hісkеу (“Rіhаnnа juѕt hіt me оn thе text / Lаѕt night I left hісkеуѕ on hеr nесk”). MGK аnd G-Eаzу are arguing оvеr frаt rap аnd Fall Out Boy. Dеѕріtе аll оf thаt, I hope you have a gооd wееkеnd.

Mасhіnе Gun Kеllу wаѕ just оnе оf many artists Emіnеm took aim аt оn his nеw album, wіth Drаkе, Mіgоѕ and Tуlеr thе Crеаtоr all receiving сrіtісіѕm frоm thе Detroit rapper. Hоwеvеr, Eminem’s ѕоng ‘Fаll’, on whісh Bon Ivеr’ѕ Juѕtіn Vernon also арреаrѕ, was hеаvіlу сrіtісіѕеd оn social media because of thе hоmорhоbіс criticism hе lеvеllеd аt Tyler the Creator. Emіnеm rарѕ: “Tуlеr сrеаtе nothin’, I ѕее why уоu саllеd yourself a f*****, bitch.”

Emіnеm is not happy. We knоw because he tеllѕ us, іn the ореnіng seconds оf ‘Kamikaze’, lіkе hе’ѕ psyching hіmѕеlf uр: “I fееl lіkе I want tо рunсh the world іn thе fucking fасе right nоw.”

And the fierce Detroit native seems to be on a warpath and is clearly not done. Releasing another scathing aimed at MGK and who ever is currently under legendary rapper’s
Skin. Putting on a display of supreme lyrical skill that some may have felt he has lost.

Listen to Eminem explain the beef in an interview with Shade 45’s Sway.

The surprise release of Kamikaze has delivered a tight album full of mind blowing lyrics and sharp features.

A notable stand out is “Lucky You,” featuring the Worcester, Massachusetts rapper – Joyner Lucas. We are jumping on the phones now to holla at this talented wordsmith.

Los Angeles -OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has announced that it has renewed for a fourth season its hit megachurch drama series “Greenleaf” from Lionsgate, award-winning writer/executive producer Craig Wright, and executive producers Clement Virgo, Kriss Turner Towner, and Oprah Winfrey. The series stars Merle Dandridge as Grace Greenleaf, Lynn Whitfield as Lady Mae Greenleaf, and Keith David as Bishop Greenleaf. Season three guest stars include the legendary Patti LaBelle as Maxine Patterson, Iyanla Vanzant appearing as herself, and Beau Bridges as Bob Whitmore.

The announcement comes as the acclaimed drama (Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT) delivered a season high in its Wednesday time period (9/12) with more than 2.3 million viewers (up +8% vs. year ago L+3) and a 1.90 rating in the network’s key women 25-54 demo (+7% vs. year ago L+3). It was also the #1 telecast of the night for African American viewers across all of broadcast and cable. Year to date, OWN boasts five of the top 20 original scripted series on ad-supported cable among W25-54, more than any other network.

“‘Greenleaf’ is a cornerstone of our scripted programming slate and pulls in millions of viewers each week with its unique storylines and powerful characters,” said Erik Logan, president, OWN. “We are very proud of this show, the incredible cast, producers and crew, and can’t wait for more twists and turns from the Greenleaf family in season four.”

About “Greenleaf”
(Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
In tonight’s all-new episode, the Bishop (Keith David) and Lady Mae (Lynn Whitfield) make alternate plans after Clara (Donna Biscoe) denies them the check for the IRS bill. Grace (Merle Dandridge) tends to Sophia (Desiree Ross) when a medical emergency sends her daughter to the hospital.

In season three of “Greenleaf,” all the turbulent forces that Grace’s (Merle Dandridge) return to Memphis unleashed threaten to destroy not just the church her family built, but the family itself. Fallout from last season’s shocking revelation of Bishop’s (Keith David) infidelities with Lady Mae’s (Lynn Whitfield) sister, as well as reverberations from his current dalliance with that insidious Jezebel, Rochelle Cross (LeToya Luckett) lead to all-out war in the Greenleaf home, setting the Bishop and Lady Mae on a collision course that, unless God or Grace intervenes, can only end one way: divorce. In the wake of the marital mayhem, Lady Mae rushes to reconnect with Maxine Patterson (Patti LaBelle), an old friend and now a world-famous Christian motivational speaker, in an attempt to reclaim her forsaken call to preach and thus do what no First Lady has done before – survive as the sole head pastor of a megachurch after a major rift between its founding couple. Grace, meanwhile, works undercover in the company of Rochelle, hoping to discover Rochelle’s motives and true identity before the Bishop is swept away on a raging river of vanity and desire. Across town at Triumph, Jacob (Lamman Rucker) and Kerissa (Kim Hawthorne) try not to make the same mistakes Bishop and Lady Mae made as they work to build their own evangelical empire and manage parenting their teenage daughter Zora (Lovie Simone), but the roots of sin delve deep and old habits die hard. Sophia’s (Desiree Ross) faith is tested when an unforeseen medical issue arises; Charity (Deborah Joy Winans) struggles to make peace with Kevin (Tye White) and find her place in the world; and Grace works to keep an abused woman from death row for the crime of defending her own life. Meanwhile, Darius (Rick Fox) finds himself in conflict due to being entangled in an increasingly strained relationship with Grace.

“Greenleaf” is produced for OWN by Lionsgate in association with Harpo Films and Pine City. Executive producers are Oprah Winfrey, Craig Wright (“Lost,” “Six Feet Under”), Clement Virgo (“The Book of Negroes”), and Kriss Turner Towner (“The Romanoffs,” “Black Monday”).

Viewers can catch up on the show’s complete first and second seasons on Netflix. For photography and additional show information please visit Greenleaf Press Web and http://www.greenleafown.tv/.

BMG ACQUIRES INDEPENDENT HIP-HOP LABEL RBC RECORDS, HOME OF CHIEF KEEF, FLIPPA, WAKA FLOCKA FLAME, BIG L, AND THE GUCCI MANE CATALOG

Los Angeles, CA – September 13, 2018 – BMG has announced the acquisition of Los Angeles-based independent hip-hop/rap label RBC Records (RBC). Launched in 2002, the label is home to a number of prolific and influential artists including Chief Keef, Flippa (aka Skippa Da Flippa), Waka Flocka Flame, Big L, and Gucci Mane, whose catalog sits alongside more than 500 label releases having sold millions of records worldwide.

The first acquisition of a label by BMG since it acquired Nashville powerhouse BBR Music Group (Broken Bow Records, Wheelhouse Records, Stoney Creek Records) in February 2017, RBC joins BMG’s recording operations in Los Angeles and New York, together with Rise Records in Portland, OR, and S-Curve Records in New York City.

The deal continues to amplify BMG’s position in the hip-hop market following the recent string of successes from Big K.R.I.T. (4Eva Is A Mighty Long Time), Scarface (Deeply Rooted), and releases from Commission Music artists Lil Dicky(US and UK chart-topping, 2X Platinum single ‘Freaky Friday’), MadeinTYO (Platinum single ‘Skateboard P’), and newcomer Derez De’Shon (Platinum single ‘Hardaway’).

Founded by partners Brian Shafton and Ben Grossi, RBC is an independent rap/hip-hop label and artist services company specializing in digital marketing and distribution. Offering artists and independent labels distribution, product management, sales, marketing, publicity, radio and video promotion, and creative-services consulting to artists and management, RBC is a full-service label alternative.

RBC’s existing team, who are based in Los Angeles, will remain in their positions and continue to report to Shafton, with Shafton reporting to BMG’s EVP, Recorded Music, Tom ‘Grover’ Biery.

Over the years, RBC has released hundreds of projects from artists such as Tech N9ne, E-40, Run the Jewels, Goldlink, and Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.

The first projects slated for release include new music from Chief Keef and Flippa, with more to be announced soon.

Zach Katz, President, Marketing & Repertoire, BMG US, said, “We have an incredible amount of admiration for what Brian has been able to build and achieve independently and are very excited about what we can now go on to grow together. The RBC team brings a wealth of experience, an extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit, an unrivalled network and a great track record of success. Put that together with BMG’s scale and ability to deliver and I think you have something very special.”

Said Shafton, “BMG respects our history, took notice of our immense growth over the past couple of years, and most importantly, are fully invested in our future. We love BMG’s vision, team, and infrastructure. By joining forces, RBC will gain tremendous synergies that will allow us unbridled growth. I am so excited about this partnership and know that it will propel us into the future.”
Said Grossi, “BMG understands the intrinsic value and experience RBC brings in its more than 16-year history in the hip-hop/rap game and BMG possesses a formidable machine to complement it. The depth and scale of what BMG brings to the table will allow RBC to achieve new heights.”

About BMG:
BMG is the new model music company founded by Bertelsmann in 2008 as a direct response to the challenges of music’s digital revolution. Key to its innovative approach is the fact it represents the traditionally separate music publishing and recording rights off the same state-of-the-art platform internationally. Warriors of Liberty City

“Warriors of Liberty City,” an Official 2018 SXSW Episodic Selection, is a docuseries from Executive Producers LeBron James and Maverick Carter, along with PGA® award– winning director and producer Evan Rosenfeld, that explores Liberty City – a crime-ridden neighborhood in Miami that is arguably the NFL’s largest, most successful football factory. The series follows a season with the Liberty City Warriors, a youth football program founded by an unlikely mentor: hip-hop pioneer Luther Campbell, better known as “Uncle Luke.” Before Liberty City native Barry Jenkins won his historic Oscar® for Moonlight, the city was best known for producing some of the biggest names in football, including Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Devonta Freeman, Antonio Brown, Duke Johnson and Teddy Bridgewater. It is a place synonymous with poverty and gun violence, but in the face of incredible challenges and personal tragedy, the Liberty City Warriors learn to triumph both on and off the football field. Beyond football, the Liberty City Warriors Optimist Club is a youth organization that sponsors sports teams, dance, cheerleading, tutoring and academic support. Life, like football, is a contact sport, and for the kids and families of Liberty City, being a Warrior holds the key to both.
